What is the Met Gala?

The Met Gala is an annual fundraising gala for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City, widely regarded as the world’s most prestigious and glamorous fashion event. Each year, it marks the opening of the Costume Institute’s fashion exhibition, and guests are expected to dress according to a specific theme. It takes place on the first Monday of May every year.

For 2025, the theme was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style“, celebrating Black style, tailoring, and the history of Black dandyism. The official dress code was “Tailored for You“.
